Type Cover not Working but ...

My type cover does not work and I left my surface aside the battery drained. I put it in the socket and the type cover worked. What will it be?

    The cover keyboard quit working for me after an automatic update somewhere around the first of the year 2018. I have read many posts on many sites and the overwhelming one of the rwo finger reset is a joke. Thinking that my key cover had gone bad I purchased a new one at $100.00 US. Turns out to have been a waisted purchase and the bad part is Microsoft got money for there damaging update. I have sunce purchased a Brydge 12.3 and now have a keyboard that works. Shame on Microsoft for being another greedy company that finds satisfying the customer unimportant after gaining majority market share! Waiting on Microsoft for a FREE replacement!

    The link is actually a chinese microsoft forum. Anyway, many surface pro 3 users are facing the

    same issue with the type cover. The type cover works only after surface is fully drained. and it

    does not detect the type cover after it is detached.

    The battery drain is also abnormal. After it is fully charged and shut down normally, with type

    cover attached, the battery is completely drained within a day.

    Please help resolve the issue, give us the confidence and assurance to support surface products.

    Before the problem kicked in, I was a happy surface user and always encouraged people around

    me to buy the product. But with a crippled device now, I dare not advocate friends to buy the

    latest model, lest the same problem recur.

    it not hardware ploblem.i thing some thing wrong with last update i will try his way too. i try system image no hope still not working .not hardware for sureeeeeeee
