My type cover does not work and I left my surface aside the battery drained. I put it in the socket and the type cover worked. What will it be?

Having now resolved the downloads issue I've followed your guide here but alas during reboot it did not appear to do any firmware downgrade, so I am no further forward in finding a solution.

My only add to your list of symptoms and attempted repairs is that this appears to have been triggered by the surface pro 3 completely draining the battery during sleep mode and when we replaced the power supply and powered up it began with a failed boot cycle with a blue screen.  Once we chose restart it booted normally except for the type cover that no longer works...

Really hoping someone has a solution for us - 2 hours later with MS phone tech and they have no ideas from their end..

UPDATE to April 7 comments:  I tested both my "useless" original type covers, and they work just fine with a New Surface Pro (latest version), both keyboards. So, Microsoft, IT IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM, SOLVE IT. Don't be that irresponsible and negligent with your clients.  Or if you don't think there is a critical mass with this problem so you're not willing to invest your resources in solving a problem that affects such a few number of clients, then COMPENSATE US.  Be responsible.

Johnny, you've been advised on the solution multiple times. I'm reposting it

    here:

"You need to exchange your Surface if you completely reimaged with a released

version of Windows from a downloadable recovery image and still have issues

(this has been explained to you in all the other threads). You've stated you are

running Insider Builds in another thread "I am insider, I installed the last

update of the insider for this, and nothing solved."

I understand that you live in an unsupported country and you need to find

someone in a supported country to handle the exchange for you and that person

will need to pay for the refurb and you will need to reimburse that person. "

Another person with the same problem.

This is firmware, but Microsoft does not recognize it.
