2018-03-03T03:46:54+00:00 Hi,
The last post and the solution in this thread is that, the customer will send his Surface Pro 3 for replacement/repair. If you need the contact number for Japan, click this link. Please let us know the outcome.
Thank you.
I am from Singapore, not Japan. And my Warranty is out.
Anyway, just to confirm that my type cover is working , I just tested it on my surface RT that is running windows 8. Ha! guess what? it works like a charm! How silly can it be? Windows RT does not get windows 10 upgrade and it is still compatible with surface pro 3 type cover. Surface pro 3 after the latest update ends up turning the type cover into a useless piece of junk and the tablet itself drains power like crazy even when it is power off.
What is the point of forcing user to update their windows when it ain't broken? Is this a tactic to force us to upgrade to the new Surface Pro?? The sadder news is user cannot revert back to the earlier version to get the type cover working again. And microsoft insists it is hardware issue, and request user to send their machine for repair, and charge them for the service? Now think about it, does it make any sense??
You should know your type cover is supposed to be a proprietary premium product that only works with surface tablets. In the past, when there was similar issue, it took at most one week or two to resolve, I can still tolerate with that. This time round, it has been months and there seems to be no effort in resolving this latest issue.
Honestly, I have been pretty productive using surface pro 3 until this problem hit.
Probably microsoft is now focusing on the lucrative cloud computing business and, going to kill off money losing products soon, thus they stop providing support to older products. That is how loyal customers are treated. Better don't buy surface any more.

2018-02-07T20:36:39+00:00 Hi AK,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this appears to be a common problem that Microsoft has yet to acknowledge yet alone solve. I appears that the problem is limited to the Surface Pro 3 machines which should all be either near or just out of the warranty period, so I am uncertain if Microsoft is replacing the units of those whose Surface Pro 3s are still within warranty. Personally I find it suspicious that my warranty expired two months ago, and I just began experiencing the problem. The only thing that I can suggest, which I am going to have to do, is purchase one of the Bluetooth type cover alternatives, which you can find on amazon. So far I have located three, but I am uncertain of their quality.

what can i do? i really need this to work.
I have read and tried the basic techniques for the restarting the type cover, all to no avail.
