Surface Pro 3 does not connect to recent Samsung Series 7 TV

Also just installed Windows 10, problem remains.

Tried adjusting different resolutions, no change.

Both devices sit there saying they're "connecting" but then time out. The TV says "Screen Mirroring has ended", which suggests that it "thinks" that it made a successful connection and then disconnected gracefully (even though it did not).

My Lumia Icon Windows Phone connects beautifully (though at a lower than HD resolution).

Just a heads up for people with Samsung TVs - Samsung seem to be REALLY slow with posting firmware updates onto their online service.  I have a series 6 TV and I did a manual check for updates today and it said I was already on the latest (2130), however I googled the TV model number and "firmware update" and they have a firmware file available which you can flash by USB for version 2750.3 which was released less than a month ago.

It made no difference to my ability to connect however :(

same for me. i installed windows 10 yesterday and the issue is still there.

installed windows 10 yesterday nothing changed, still not working... i gave up. even with the microsoft wireless adapter is laging like hell and not smooth at all. when i use my android tablet it works diretly like a charm, with the dell latitude 11 it also works without any problem... kinda weird that divces with changeable battery, hdd and so on are even better in services like this... 

I also installed Windows 10. Remembered this thread and tested, it actually worked. The Surface screen resolution changed automatically to a lower before it was presented on the TV. First I needed to add the device (TV) in the Surface settings and then connect to it. Haven't tried it twice......so cannot promise it was luck that caused Bugsoft to connect ;-)

I use Samsung 8 series from 2014.

EDIT 2: Got angry and sat down and I tried different ways, since it connected once on Windows 10. First I removed all units in my Windows settings and started all over. What seems to work for me is:

1 - TV and Surface connected to same Network / tried also when TV has no internet connection but WiFi direct/Miracast activated

2 - TV in normal mode i.e. I watch a TV program OR set source: screen mirroring (sometimes one way or the other work - don't know why but it seems the source only needed for first pairing)

3 - Add the TV in settings of Windows by search for it (you will see two units for same TV - one is entertaining unit and the other is TV, I picked TV)

4 - Now it connects, and I get a message bar on the Samsung TV that it connects to my Surface

5 - I bring out charm and disconnect, back to normal

6 - I bring out charm and re-connect and it works (sometimes need to try a couple of times)

Work most of the times - sometimes Windows hangs when the connection goes bad and I need to force shut down. Not perfect but when it works, it works more than OK. Little lag but nothing to worry about.

I see some comments on Samsung FW updates. Have latest FW from Samsung of course (July 2015). Same issue for me that TV sometimes does not find it, this is most probably due to your routers and firewalls. I tried to connect my TV to WiFi hotspot via phone 3G and then TV found it, so my router stop the TV it seems. Use USB update in that case, no problem at all.

I share the above to inform that sometimes it works.

My Surface Pro 1 will NOT connect to our Sony Bravia UHD tv.

It's a 2014 model.

At first, the Surface would mirror the Start screen but then the tv sat there waiting for signal and everything just hung up.

Then Sony did a software update and now the Surface doesn't work AT ALL ... nothing on the tv screen at all.

Both devices are supposed to be Miracast capable and I refuse to buy an adapter to make something work that should work out of the box.
