Sony UHD tv's don't work with Surface Pro 1 either via Miracast without an adapter.
I can send the Start screen from my SP1 and then it stops and the TV is sittting there waiting for more signal which never comes.
If it was impossible to send to the TV without an adapter, the Start Screen would never appear on the TV at all.
If Sony's Whitelist was the problem the Start Screen would be unlikely to appear on the TV either.
The TV sees the Surface Pro and the Surface Pro sees the tv and it even shows up in device manager.
But the SP will only send the Start Screen to the TV and nothing else.
People have been complaining about this since the first generation of UHD tv's came out in 2013.
Would you please ask the powers that be at Microsoft and Sony to have a programmer or two take a look and FIX THIS?
I can let them know but I can't guarantee they will look at the issue. Question for you - what happens if you start (example) playing a movie and then start the Miracast session? Or start from inside an app ?
