my brother just bought the surface pro 7, and initially the keyboard works, but after closing the type cover, once he returns, the keyboard does not work anymore, the driver cannot even be found. We tried all fixes, nothing except factory reset worked. It happened again today, a day later and we are perplexed. we cannot continue to factory reset every day for this keyboard type cover to work, what can be done??

My TypeCover stopped working again. Having not very good experience with technical service I have decided to buy a third-party replacement for the keyboard.

It connects via Bluetooth and works quite well. Not the same quality... but it works which makes it infinitely better than the original Cover.

Hi, same issue for me. I preordered the surface 7 and I am still waiting for a fix as no recommendation solved the issue...

I am sure that it does not come from the cover as it works perfectly on my pro 3.

I agree. The new typecover works for my old pro2, but on the new pro7, it works intermittently. I don't know what happend.

    That's right!

Let us hope that this is the end of that story (but I take it with a pinch of salt).

Quite frankly nothing has fixed the issues with my Surface. However, when I decided to send it to the guarantee service for a repair (replacement) it just started to work and still works. I had prepared all the boxes in which it arrived, backed up my files, and was just to do a full reset when the Type Cover responded. Strange.

I did not send it back to the service since virtually there is no apparent flaw in the Surface. I wonder how long this state will take.

Almost the same experience. Mine has been working flawlessly for a few weeks now. Drive update? Some manufacturing byproduct on the contacts that's worn away?

No idea, but glad I don't have to send it away!
