Hello, I noticed today my surface book 2 does not charge while plugging in the charger. I tried both while docking the keyboard in laptop mode and in tablet mode but both does not show any indication of charging. I also noticed the charger does not light up that white led to indicate charging.

I didnt receive any error message.
i didnt make any changes in my computer.
i cant update my compueter because i need 40% battery, which i dont have.
i did try to shutdown my computer.
the charger is new so i that is not the problem it was working yesterday perfectly, i also tried to detach my computer and charge only the screen wich didnt work.
what do i do?
Did you try to uninstall and reinstall the battery drivers in device manager?
I'm having similar issues. Surface Book 2 is connected to charger but it does not light up nor charge. Only solution is to reboot. Sometimes I have to do a hard reboot to restore charging. Happened twice in the last three days now. Rebooting solves the problem so I don't think it's a charger issue even though I think the Microsoft branded chargers and every replacement charger I've purchased in the last couple of years suck and die.
I'm going to install this update after I post this and see if the problem is solved....not holding my breath.

I haven't had the charging issues either - but I have a chronic problem with external displays not being recognized and I have had the ethernet connectivity issue sporadically. The common culprit seems to be the dock and more specifically the magnetic connector/port. While it's true this could result from a "bad batch", with so many people reporting problems it's way past time for Msft to weigh in with a resolution or at least an acknowledgement of what the core cause is. We shouldn't have to guess.....
Sadly, I don't think there's a fix for this. The many reports of display, charging and ethernet connectivity issues all point to a problem with the dock, but I still had the same issues after my company replaced the dock so I've pretty much narrowed down my persistent issues to the multi pin port on the Surface. Though an elegant concept, the multi purpose magnetic pin connection always looked like a weak design point to me. I noticed for instance if I bumped the laptop even gently, I'd lose the connection. And relying on such a flimsy connector for so many critical things is a poor engineering choice.
Though they desperately want to be, Msft is not Apple and Msft is not Google - and whenever they try to copy them or compete with them, they seem to fall flat on their face. The Surface is fast becoming the latest evidence of that.
I hear you but I have to add there are others like me who've never had this problem. Mind you I don't use a dock but I have 3 chargers for my book 2 in 3 different locations. And I've never had a problem. The one time I had a battery charge issue, it got resolved my reinstalling battery drivers in Device Manager and same with a display adapter issue. I've never had network connection issues. I use this PC a whole lot too, both for work and personal use including gaming and I heavily use it in tablet mode too. It's possible they had some bad batches and I got lucky, bought mine at a best buy.
