Hello, I noticed today my surface book 2 does not charge while plugging in the charger. I tried both while docking the keyboard in laptop mode and in tablet mode but both does not show any indication of charging. I also noticed the charger does not light up that white led to indicate charging.

    WTF MICROSOFT

How do you make an already crappy device even worse?

My SB2 stopped charging this week. Power light on the cable end lights up but my SB2 refuses to charge. I undocked the screen from the base and tried plugging in the power to the screen directly and it will not even charge that way.

I did find my cell phone USB-C charger does work but it can't keep up. So now I have to power off in the middle of the day and plug my cell phone charger into my computer and let it sit for hours to charge.

Seriously WTF?! Does anyone at Microsoft test their own hardware running their own software? This is one of many ridiculous issues. Of course Microsoft won't acknowledge it and we probably won't see a fix for months, if ever.

I am ordering a Lenovo now. I don't know why I even gave Microsoft a chance. I have friends that work there that had the SB and told me to stay away but I did not listen. Lenovo never let me down and they respond to support requests, investigate, put together fixes, instead of Microsoft who will say lets waste your time and swap into a replacement (that will have the same problem of course)a.

    /Rant over.

I had the same issue with both the dock and the tablet. I bought a new charger and got damaged after one use. Later on, I came to find that there are some burned pins inside the charging socket of the keyboard dock. Prior to that, I had serious issues with powering up my surface book where I need to detach it almost every time I need  to power it up. Really disappointed with my experience.

I have the same problem. The battery charger supplied with my Surface Book 2 less than 6 months ago only seems to work when the battery is below 10% and even then it sometimes has to be plugged into the mains several times. I have checked the mains socket. There is a USB port on the charger for charging other devices and that only works when the laptop charger is on. Once charging it stays on until disconnected.  Then I have to run the batteries right down before I can recharge them again.
