My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

Hi All,
We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

Wow, **** is wrong with this thing. I would have thought near 0 during hibernate. I'll check today after work. I left this morning with the SP4 running on battery. It will go into hibernate an hour later. It will be interesting to see how much drain there is during hibernate.
Here's something which I have noticed in the past few days. I had switched over to Hibernate as a replacement for Sleep due to this issue, however I have noticed that often I get battery drain in Hibernate too! I have put my battery report below.
Could this be the keyboard draining battery? I can't think what else it could be since the Surface goes through the boot sequence with the Surface logo when coming out of Hibernate. Nothing shows up in the sleep study either. Has anyone else experienced this? It isn't a huge amount of battery (10% in 29 hours) but surely the device isn't supposed to use any power, or is this not 'proper' hibernate?
Do you have hello and wife enabled? The last two sleep sessions for me are identical for me. 1 hour, 1386 mW, 16%/12%.
Yes - the sleep function is all but useless so I have turned all settings to hibernate.
Means a little slower to boot but plenty of battery left.
However that does not mean that Microsoft doesn't have to provide a fix be bios or whatever.
