My SP4 gets very hot and drains the battery very fast even though it is asleep. I found it very hot in its sleeve and down to 28% earlier today. Found it dead later in the afternoon. This is one of MANY issues this device has.
(My SP4 is not part of the insider program)

We released an update on 2/17/2016 that addresses this issue.
We recommend that you install this update to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings> Update & security> Windows Update.
To confirm the updates are installed, check Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Advanced options> View your update history.

It's very common. And Panos, afaict, was lying through his teeth in the keynote.
With connected sleep enabled, I've never had my SP4 go below 5% per hour battery drain, and after the TH2 update it was closer to 11%.
I've disabled CS with a registry hack and changed my power settings to hibernate after 5-10 minutes (just in case I close the kbd or hit the power button accidentally, as I have - waiting 25-30 seconds to hibernate and then de-hibernate is kind of a pain if you just forgot one small thing).
Last night it went from sleep-hibernate and I turned it on this morning and had 97% battery still remaining.
That update works for me! Now it consumes only 400mW per hr. CPU 0 and hd graphics are no longer appear on the sleep report!
I took the latest updates today which included firmware updates for the SP4, and I saw no difference in a 1 hour sleep session. 16% Graphics, 12% CPU. Lost about 1500mW during that hour, same as before.
Do others see the same?
If you turn off CS, you will have very little power drain simply because the device must be put into hibernate everytime you close the lid, press the power button, etc.
SP4 does not support S3 sleep. So either you let it sleep in a CS way, or you can only make it hibernate.
The bad thing is every wake up has to go through bootloop and takes a few seconds more.
