Where are you attaching your pen tab to your Surface Pro 3?

After taking a second look at your photo, I think the wax paper cover is still on your pen tab.  Try to peel that off.  That is that white rectangle stuck to your pen tab.

Now, the way you still have that attached, contact Customer Support and see if you can get it swapped out.  Mine wasn't even attached to that and was wondering why it was even in the box.

Also, mine had a seal on the adhesive end and had to be peeled off before use.  Yours looks like it was used and put in the box.

In fact, by your picture, your tab may still have the adhesive cover still on it.  Check to see if it will peel off.

got my loop out of the box today - to find some clown in production has stuck the loop to the card without an interface piece.

Totally unusable after all. 

No way would I buy this as an additional accessory.  :-/

I stuck mine on the kickstand itself and is not positioned to get in the way of anything whether the kickstand is folded or extended.  Does not block any ports and the pen is right there if you want to use it.

I have a 12" messenger bag (vertical design) and the tablet slides in perfect with the pen on top.  There are bags designed in the horizontal where putting the pen on top will not be in the way.

One other reason for not putting the holder on the keyboard is that the adhesive will not hold onto felt.  Whoever came up with that idea didn't really test it other than place it there and take a picture of it.  It will fall off even though the pen would be out of the way.

Putting it on the tablet itself; the pen stays with the tablet even after detaching the keyboard to use it as a tablet.  On the side or on the top; that is the way to go.

Well, I think you have a pretty good setup.  On the kickstand, it does take a few hits but seems to stay out of the way.  Being on top would like yours would probably better.

No aftermarket solutions I have heard of.  Somebody could probably make something with Velcro that could attach as well.

So glad I found this thread. Some people had instructions with the loop? wow - mine was just in the box.

I was thinking that putting it on the keyboard doesn't help if you take the keyboard off. Had thought about putting it on the bottom of the type cover until I realised that it would obscure the camera  when folded back.

Putting it on the right of the device could get in the way of the accessory slots and on the left in the way of the volume control.

I like the stick on the top option but what happens when you lay it down flat on the table in tablet mode.

At the moment it tends to be loosely fixed to the magnet at the risk of me knocking it on the floor when putting the thing in my bag.

Still puzzled.
