It seems that it is related to current frequency of CPU/GPU, the issue occurred more often when cpu freq is low.
Surface Book 2 Trackpad and Keyboard Lag
Hi. I have a brand new, i7 256 Surface Book 2 with an annoying problem. The trackpad and keyboard both exhibit huge lag when running on battery power, with anything less than "Better Performance". Even then, it's not perfect unless you go for the 'Best Performance' setting.
When running in battery mode, it's easy to appreciate that more people might be using the trackpad rather than a mouse (for portability) so why this won't function properly on the lower power saving modes, is confusing to say the least. One would expect the keyboard to work cum-what-may.
I've never experienced this issue with my Surface Pros and feel rather disappointed given the cost or the Book 2.
Any fixes please, other than disabling the two-finger pinch to zoom function?

2018-09-05T09:07:58+00:00 I have the same issue. I bought the version 15''-i7 -1T-GTX1060 in July. At first I did not encounter this problem(used or not used nvidia video card both occurred). But from the middle of August, this issue often occurred when I use recommended power mode (even power supply attached). If I switch power mode to better performance the issue may fixed.
I did not install third party system optimization software. I just installed VS, software from Microsoft Store, android game emulator (mumu, nox, bluestacks).
Is the voltage/power drives the touchpad/screen/mother-board changed when I switch the power mode? Or the priority of mouse drivers are too low ?

2018-08-10T18:53:47+00:00 The problems with touchpad and keyboard lag still exist. Everything seemed good for a day or two after the last batch of updates but have now reverted back to laggy when I'm on battery.

2018-08-05T17:43:00+00:00 My lagging keyboard has cleared up on battery but it has changed the feel of my keys. They had a less clicky sound and were easier to depress. But oh, well. When they change one thing, it affects another.
This is a joke, right? I mean, obviously, the keyboard's physical switches weren't altered by any updates, and so this has to be facetious... But this IS the internet, and so one never does know for sure.
