Surface Pro 4 type cover suddenly not working.

I don't know what happened. I turned my Surface Pro 4 on the other day and the type cover is dead. No lights. No response. No indication that it's working at all.  I rarely take my surface anywhere.

This started on July 9th 2018. My system information is below. I've gone through all of the steps in the "Troubleshoot your Surface Type Cover or keyboard" page. I've tried to manually download and install the latest firmware and drivers from the "Download firmware and drivers for surface" page. I picked SurfacePro4_Win10_16299_1801701_1.msi. My device manager does not show the "Surface Touch Cover Filter Device" under keyboards or anywhere. It only shows the HID keyboard and cannot detect my type cover. The type cover is completely unresponsive. Also, my windows updates are completely up to date. I've provided the links to the troubleshooting pages I used below.

Today i am expecting the replacement unit to arrived at my door steps, as this is my 2nd time getting my unit replaced; so means this is the 3rd Unit i got from Microsoft for the same issues of Screen Flickering and Type Cover not working. For the few weeks usage, there wont be any issue or maybe until the warrant period expired on the replacement unit.

This be my First and Last Microsoft hardware that I am going to get. Gonna go back to the old manufacturer of Laptops and Hardware, or maybe just work from a phone.

that sounds to be some good news if the problem can be solved by purchasing a sp3 or sp5 keyboard.  Though it's still Microsoft's mistake.

Did the sp3 or sp5 keyboard on the sp4 ever stopped working or it only workd  for a day ?

I gifted my old SP4 to my niece when the 5 came out. She had it exchanged because of flickering extended warranty last year and now the replacement has the same keyboard problem.

Now to complicate matters (and hopefully help troubleshooting)  the weird thing is that my type cover (from my SP5) works on my niece SP4 that has its keyboard problem. I think my SP5 keyboard could be a new revision of the keyboard because the "cobalt blue" keyboard that I have did not exist in the SP4 days. (And as tested by others her SP4 keyboard does work without problem in my SP5). Also another poster (RudeHercules666)have also said the SP3 keyboard also works on his SP4 that have this issue.

It is somehow this problem only affecting an specific revision of the SP4 keyboard??

does anyone here ever try to sell the SP4 with dead type cover? how much do you get? type cover isn't broke, windows update did. I don't think it's fair to reduce the price because it isn't defect. How do you think guys?
