Surface Pro 4 type cover suddenly not working.

I don't know what happened. I turned my Surface Pro 4 on the other day and the type cover is dead. No lights. No response. No indication that it's working at all. I rarely take my surface anywhere.
This started on July 9th 2018. My system information is below. I've gone through all of the steps in the "Troubleshoot your Surface Type Cover or keyboard" page. I've tried to manually download and install the latest firmware and drivers from the "Download firmware and drivers for surface" page. I picked SurfacePro4_Win10_16299_1801701_1.msi. My device manager does not show the "Surface Touch Cover Filter Device" under keyboards or anywhere. It only shows the HID keyboard and cannot detect my type cover. The type cover is completely unresponsive. Also, my windows updates are completely up to date. I've provided the links to the troubleshooting pages I used below.

2020-03-27T07:31:17+00:00 Ohh and i got through to customer service by calling windows support that redirected me throug 2 other people untill i got a supportere for surface, just be very polite, nice and understanding, they only work there and deal with crappy people all day:)

2020-03-27T07:29:31+00:00 I know its a bit late, but if you guys ever get it to work, please try and disable connected standby in registry. I had the same problem and registred that it was a driver problem (A log file in windows indicated this) and in it it said that i should contact microsoft because it was their fault. Cant remember the log file, but try to search for it.
Connected standby can mess with a driver update if it goes from sleep to update somehow. Its a really **** situation and i cant understand Microsoft still dont know what to do since they got my surface, logs files that told them where the problem was.
They changed my device even after 3 years, and gave a free year of warranty from the trouble. Did get crappy replacements though and had to sent it back 4 times before i got one that was at the same quality as my previous. Will not buy a new one after this break in proberbly half a year, this is my second one i got from a warranty change. Never again, wasted so much time just to find the log that said it was their fault.
Sorry i cant remember the logfile name and the registry key, but search on google for it and you should be able to locate them.
