Word Ipad scrolls back to where cursor is, and also some keystrokes are being missed

Recently Word on Ipad is having some issues:

  1. It scrolls back to where cursor is, which makes it very unusable. Basically I cannot use it at all for my writing.
  2. Some keystrokes get missed.

I have already done these trouble shootings: updated my Ipad (maybe this was the cause of the problem because I didn't notice this issue until then), updated to latest Word, uninstalled and reinstalled word, offloaded word app from Ipad storage and reinstalled it, hard restarted my device. I use this app frequently so am very familiar with it. Also, I tried testing other writing tools such as OneNote and Ipad Notes app, but have not had this same issue.

System Info:

Ipad Pro 11inch 3rd Generation, Ipad OS 18.4, Word version 2.95.3.

    UPDATE: I spoke with the T3 Microsoft Rep who is handling my case, who assured me that they are still working on it, and sometimes these issues take a long time to get resolved.  I think he mentioned another case which took even longer than this.  At this time there's only one other case he was aware of in their official support system that has reported this issue, but he was aware about this community thread and that many others have reported it here.  If you're having this issue maybe also officially report it to Microsoft Support so that it might speed up the progress the more they see that people are reporting it.  The people who are working on it are the actual app developers, and so it seems to be at the highest levels already.  But indeed, the T3 rep said he was sure that they are still working on it and that they have not forgotten about it or something like that, though as of now they say they are still investigating and don't have any further updates.

    Yeah, I switched to my Windows laptop. What really sucks is that I sold my Mac laptop a while back because Word for the iPad did everything I needed. Now I'm stuck with a heavy, game style, laptop to lug around. I'm very disappointed in Microsoft at this point. If they are not able or willing to maintain the Apple version of office, then they should discontinue it. Word is now too buggy on the iPad to be productive and trusted.

    I found a crude workaround. Placing the cursor at the end of a sentence or paragraph before scrolling prevents the rollback. My educated guess is that the Word App loses reference to the cursor location when it is in the middle of a word, space, or sentence (ie: not at a CR/LF). Microsoft: Get this fixed, please.

    This is driving me crazy. It’s started with the last update. It has made word and power point useless. Help Apple. Or,I’m going to use Pages

    Yes, this is happening to me as well. I am using an Apple Magick Keyboard, IPad Pro 5th Gen and am on iPad OS 18.4.1. This is incredibly annoying and makes the product borderline unusable.
