Is Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) Dead? November 2024. I see its migrated to Get Help.

I can't seem to open it anymore.

It was my very effective tool to troubleshoot Office application problems.

Can you help provide alternatives? and must be a Microsoft product like SaRa.

    Stefan, sorry, yes. What I meant was I had this shortcut on my computer: now it the link point the link I posted above as here: Running troubleshooters in Get Help - Microsoft Support

    Hi Ron,

    Yes, I am aware of the new and not at all improved troubleshooter.

    A while back, I asked a question about this change to the Word/Office product group (see page 2 in this thread at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/microsoft-support-and-recovery-assistant-sara-is/245ede55-5170-4ab5-bb6d-3b06fd7bdfb6?page=2) but I never received a follow-up. :-(

    The SARA tool has been replaced by Running troubleshooters in Get Help - Microsoft Support (There was something similar on Windows 10, same one at: Uninstall Office from a PC - Microsoft Support Scroll down to the tool)

    Microsoft hasn't released any updates on the status of the SARA tool, unfortunately.

    What you can do is a manual uninstall; see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/manually-uninstall-office-4e2904ea-25c8-4544-99ee-17696bb3027b.

    Incorrect, as of 4/2025 it has been disabled. Upon launch it checks online then disables itself.
