Remove Copilot from Word

The latest Microsoft 365 Update has added a Copilot function to Word. Now every time I create a new paragraph, a little copilot symbol appears in the left-hand margin prompting me to use copilot. It is extremely annoying and distracting. How do I stop this symbol appearing, or better, remove copilot from Word?

Easy to turn off in Word.

Open Word, click on “Option” (lower LH corner of screen), select “copilot “ and then “Off”

I did not ask for this copilot nonsense, I object to being part of your experiment without proper consultation

Yes indeed, Tony Barry2, there is no guarantee that this information will be kept confidential, given that MS has behaved in this way already, and already enforced AI upon us Office users without our consent.

The era of Big Brother is already here and in action.

I'm in America using a copy in English. How can I check if that's true or where that language icon came from?

Here's the problem -- I don't have that in my preference options, even though I have the same exact Version # and license as you. I've included screenshots.
