How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    TO TURN OFF COPILOT:

    Go into each program you'd like to turn it off in.

    File > Options > Copilot > Enable Copilot.

    There is a check box near "Enable Copilot" and you can turn it off. It is my understanding that you must do this for each application.

    Hope this helps! I had to do it too because I'm afraid it's going to "pop" as me using AI in school. Ridiculous.

    This is not current. There is no "Service" where you have indicated "Services and Subscriptions" and when I get over there and look at the CoPilot help, it says to uncheck the Copilot box and there is nowhere that is indicates any way to do so. ARRGH.

    DO NOT WANT COPILOT, thank you. I am fully capable of finding stuff without it.

    The article say an on/off toggle is in the latest Mac versions, 16.93.
    Nope. Not there.

    My continuing concern is that MS is using us to train their AI whether we like it or not.
    Even if you don't ask Copilot for help is it still 'listening' in the background? Feeding your work back to MS?
    A part of what I do is to write for a living. Some of that is commercial-in-confidence, other material is content for magazines & online.
    I do not want MS using my decades of experience to train their AI so I can be put out of work by an intern asking an AI to write an article for them.
    If you look at the information page on MS 'Connected Experiences', a feature I've now turned off on my Mac, it gives you detailed links to explain what various functions are doing but ominously there is no information about what Copilot is up to.
    This concerns me greatly.
    Even if they add an 'Off' toggle how do we know Copilot is not working in the background? Would you put that past MS?
    I want to be able to remove this spyware. Not just pretend to turn it off.

    The problem with this Slashgear advice on disabling Copilot is that (at least for Mac users), a button to toggle Copilot on or off does not exist. There are references on the Microsoft website that they will be adding the ability to toggle on or off, "possibly in February."
