How to disable copilot on microsoft office (excel, word, ppt) on Macbook

I am using a Macbook Air, last week I tried the free trial of the copilot, but since I don't find it helpful, and even my word keeps on lagging, now I want to disable the copilot.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft 365, and several tips on the internet, but none of them is working. The copilot is still there. and I find it so annoying.

Can someone help me to show me the way to disable the copilot, please?

    BEWARE!!! I just paid for the standalone version of Microsoft 365 - and the Microsoft website says the standalone version doesn't have the AI Copilot in it. IT DOES. So buying the standalone version doesn't solve the problem of trying to get off Copilot. Microsoft is the sleaziest tech company on this planet.

    Coincidentally, I have just received an email from Microsoft telling me that I will be charged NZ$229 per year for a family 365 sub unless I cancel TWO DAYS BEFORE my sub expires! This comes after I have already reduced my plan to 'Personal 365 classic' at $129 per year and I have it in writing that I am signed up for that downgrade which the chat bot/person tells me will kick in AFTER my sub expires, so this email today makes the whole operation feel dodgy as hell.

    So, BEWARE! If you're planning on cancelling / changing your sub, apparently you must do it no less than two days before it expires! That's incredibly unethical.

    I am now looking at cancelling all/any Microsoft purchases (asap before the two days prior to my sub expiring) and buying an old standalone installable version of the software via a trader on Trademe. I feel like sending an invoice to Microsoft for the weeks I've spent working through all this ****.

    Just a head's up that the Microsoft website says if you buy the standalone, one-time purchase software, it won't have Copilot in it. And that is a bald-faced LIE. I just purchased the standalone app and loaded it. And it's got Copilot in it.
