Affected users should go to File | Office Account | Update Options | Update Now and try another manual update.

I confirmed that all my optional privacy settings at File | Office Account | Privacy Settings | Manage Settings | Connected Experiences are DISABLED and my manual update seems to be working today after a system re-boot.

Kudos to Gunter Born for posting a heads up today on page 11 of Prius 04’s Microsoft 365 Update Error 30088-27. Here's hoping Microsoft has released a permanent fix on their end that works for all MS Office C2R users.

First, let me say that I appreciate you dealing with this and trying to work your way through the nonsense that is Microsoft. However, let me also just say that the first two levels you spoke to dont sound like they know what they're talking about for the very reason that you just stated. These programs are still under support.

Additionally, you can update by doing it manually still by just running the following command where x = the latest version number "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=xx.x.xxxxx.xxxxx. It isnt that the programs arent updating any more, per se, it's that clicking the Update button is not working correctly and nor would I imagine that the auto updates is working correctly

Additionally, this is affecting many different versions from 365, to 2021, to 2019 and they are not all out of support. In fact, none of them are.

Additionally, all these started malfunctioning at the same time with the update that happened on 6/29/2024 (Version 2406 (Build 17726.20126).

Finally, trust me if Microsoft were not going to support look and feel and any longer they would 100% shut down the ability from all avenues. Level 3 support is probably the only one that might give you a correct answer and probably wont be based overseas like the first two. Fingers crossed, but I really cant believe that a company can grow so big that they refuse to admit to making a mistake.

Error is fixed,  set : options, General, Privacy Settings, Turn on all connected experiences

It is NOT fixed for many, many users, including myself. Turning on All Connected Experiences still results in the error for me.

Same Problem here. Online repair minutes ago updated my Installation (2019 MSO (Version 2405 Build 16.0.17628.20006) 32 Bit -> 2019 MSO (Version 2407 Build 16.0.17830.20056) 32 Bit ) but does not solve the 30088-27 Problem.

I am on a self build AMD PC.

It's definitely a strangely executing error.

Yeah, well, whatever it is, one thing is for certain; it broke with an MS update.

There's really no doubt about that because everyone who has reported this issue has not also reported other anomalies with their machines or setups; just Office updates. So MS needs to figure out what in the hell THEY broke.
