Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    I've try this fix, but it's not working for me. I see my account is V1 and my work colleague have V2... We can`t work like that. We have different type of files to edit and share... not only Microsoft 365 apps ones... So, the "fix" of "adding OneDrive as a service" to M365 is not worth it.

    This is crazy. We're paying for this functionality, and Microsoft "can´t" solve it still. Embarrasing.

    This makes a lot of sense because my husband and I have several of the same shared folders. He was the first to encounter this issue, and then when he would gain a folder back, I would lose it. So, the users must be migrating - his being the first and mine the last.

    Do you have a link or something to Microsoft's statement on this? Is there someone to contact so we know when we'll be migrated?

    The problem is that this has gone beyond an inconvenience. Today I lost another shared folder, but instead of it just becoming a url link, it also duplicated the folder into my personal onedrive (along with 200gb of files in the folder). This has maxed out my storage capacity in my onedrive, so nothing will sync now.

    my computer is apparently uypgrding now. onedrive is "proessing changes", about 600,000 cahnges to process.

    QUESTION - do i need my computer to be ON for onedrive to process these changes (files are stored in cloud, not on local computer)

    or can i turn the computer OFF, and onedrive will still work at processing those changes?
