Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Please let's keep the problem description simple:

A OneDrive shared folder, which you do not 'own' (which is shared by somebody else) is not stored on your PC anymore, but is shown as a hyperlink instead. 😝

    Please fix this Microsoft!!

    1. You can't do anything about it...it is back'end side...so application has nothing to do with it. (Official OneDrive)
    2. It looks like MS is migrating account from one version to another. New account are hit by this, because the main who is sharing is still on the different version than the others. You have to ping Support and wait.
    3. Workaround: Install Mountain Duck app. Others propose RaiDrive. Mountain Duck is cheaper.
    4. You can check the account version...by click Gear (top left corner) on Web -> settings-> if you have something below "Restore OneDrive", like Search you are on old version. If you don't have anything below "Restore" you are on newer version.
    5. Ping MS, because only mass complaints will help us.
    6. This critical bug could be related with this:

I followed all the steps, but the issue is still as is!

I don't know what kind of programmers Microsoft hires! It has been nine months, and they can't solve the problem!

Hello. I am facing the same issue.

    This started today.

There is 1 main folder in my one drive which contains most of the information. This folder is shared across other users in the family for one drive. One user can access this locally, another one has the same issue as me where this is fully located online.

When this issue started today, it seemingly split that main folder into two parts:

#1 - a folder which contains only those files which have been added or modified by me in the main folder. This is available on my computer locally.

#2 - the main folder which was accessible on my computer locally until yesterday and is now fully online. It is terribly inconvenient to operate onedrive online.

Please help me fix this asap. Thanks
