Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    2 weeks ago, one of my colleagues encountered this problem. We recreated a new account to be a workaround.

    But today, this ridiculously long-lasting bug heated half of my 6-person group, including the 2-week-old account.

    That's why I instantly decided to quit this platform, especially due to the inaccessibility of OneDrive online web service in China.

    For anyone who's interested in the alternative, Nutstore could be the only option for Chinese users.

    Hosted (or self-hosted) NextCloud should still be available.

    But if they are your files, then you do have continued access to them in your main account (the owner of the shared folder). It is the users or the collaborators of those folders that lose access to the files through Windows Explorer. I mean, yes, there's a problem, but not the way you are saying it. The files are all there if you're the owner of that folder.

    They were always cloud files that were synced to your folder through a shared folder.

    What steps did you take for this to change? I've uninstalled and reinstalled my onedrive. I've opened that personal vault. I really need this for work. It's taking all my time. I need the shared folder in my File Explorer access. Any tips is much appreciated. Thank you.

    You can create a network drive.

    First log in to onedrive.live.com via a web browser. Select any Office document in the root directory of the folder shared with you and click on the three dots - Open - Open in application.

    In the open Office application, click on File - Start.

    The shared file that you have just opened is displayed under Recently used.

    Right-click on it and select “Copy path to clipboard”.

    Open Windows Explorer, search for “This PC” on the left-hand side, right-click on it and select “Add network location”.

    In the “Add Network Wizard”, click “Next” and then “Select custom network address”.

    Paste the copied file path into the input field and delete the part of the file name (e.g. if the copied path is https://d.docs.live.net/xxx/xxx/ABC.xlsx, you should delete ABC.xlsx and keep the previous part).

    Then enter the username and password of your OneDrive account in the pop-up window, specify a name for your folder and click Next to complete the creation.

    You can now access your shared folder directly in File Explorer under “This PC”.

    This seems to work for me. I have been able to access the shared folders directly using File Explorer.

    However, just for my understanding and to pre-empt any potential issues, are there any possible disadvantages to mapping the Onedrive folder as a network drive? Anything I should be aware of?
