Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    Can you check the version of onedrive web?

    Login to the main sharing account account ...click "gear" in the top right corner and click "settings"

    Do you have version with "Search" or without?

    Then login to the working account where there is no problem and check.

    Then login to the not working account and check the same.

    Give results if you can.

    Then please share a folder to account that have the same "version"...and see if it works fine.

    same issue here since yesterday on one of my pcs, all others work as share as real folder

    I am having the same problem since yesterday. I have linked 3 accounts of my family members and suddenly, the folders from one account appear as weblinks (URL-files) and the folders of the other account are still synced as folders as it was normal before.

    All 3 accounts are in one family account. I have uninstalled onedrive from my computer and deleted all files, synced everything again, but it did not change anything.

    I also have a Mac and the same issue appeared here. However, on my Mac both accounts only appear as URLs, there is no folder synchronization possible anymore :-(

    I have attached a screenshot of the situation. Here you can see what I mean: The folders "Bilderarchiv", "Daten" and "Spiele" are synced normally as folders to my explorer with one account. The folders "From_BrotherDevice", "Musik", "Software", "Videoclips" and "Videos" are synced from another family account and they are only available as URLs / weblinks :-(

    What can I do to solve this issue?

    Issue

    Some OneDrive shared folders shortcuts located in your My Files folder may show up as .url internet shortcuts instead of actual folders.

    If you try to open the folder shortcut, it opens as a webpage (and you may be asked to sign in) instead of a folder.

    Status

    We are aware of the issue and are working on resolving it. The .url internet shortcuts will automatically convert back to a folder when the issue is resolved. 

    You can still access the shared folder content, but it will be via OneDrive.com

    Now it's twelve months
