Force sync in OneDrive

I have standard Windows 11 installation, and that works for me just fine, onedrive.exe for me is in

"%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive" folder

(by the way %userprofile% variable would correspond most likely to something like "C:\Users\andre" - last part is my username on my PC).

I understand that this is not much of a help if in your case location of the onedrive.exe is for some reason different. You need to figure out where is it in your case.

Let me explain how you should be able to find where the heck your EXE file is sitting.

(Below I describe the actions you can take on your Windows 11 installation to find the location on your rig, all screenshots are taken on my computer, hope it should look almost the same on yours)

1. Type "one" into Search field on your taskbar - this will open the Search window of best matches, and in the Apps section you should see OneDrive:

2. Right-click on this line, and in drop-down list select second command - "Open file location", that will open up Explorer window for the "Programs" folder
3. There you will see not the onedrive.exe itself - not yet, but the shortcut to it, OneDrive.lnk,

4. then again right-click it and select "Properties" command - you will open Properties window for your shortcut:

5. That's it - finally, in the "Target" field you should see correct location of the OneDrive.exe binary on your particular PC.

Now you should be able to use correct path in your batch file and it should work properly.

P.S.: After you make your batch file and test that it works, there is one other thing that can make it more convenient to use - create a desktop shortcut to this batch file, and then you will need just to double-click it to perform manual sync, something like that -

Thank you for your reply. I am not “tech savvy.” I am a part time worker in the church office with no tech on site. I’m just trying to be sure my ESL class folder gets backed up. I don’t know why it won’t sync. 🥺 I tried to follow the directions I found and they didn’t work. 🫤

The second part of your answer DOES NOT work at least in the implementation we have. Onedrive.exe is not in that location, and I suspect that's standard.

The first part I did last night, after one hour of messing with settings. It also doesn't work.

Make sharepoint sync work properly with a button. For Pete's sakes. Or do I have to copy in your board to get it fixed.
