Copilot not creating presentations from word documents...

I got this to work but I had to dig around to figure it out. I have a 365 family account with copilot pro added yesterday

But it only worked when I logged into the web interface and uploaded my document to OneDrive. I opened a blank PP in the web interface, clicked the copilot tab, and told it to "Create a presentation from this document [copy link from OneDrive here]."

It did eventually work after two tries. First it said "I've run into a problem. Try asking me again or ask me to help you with something else." I told it to try again and it worked that time.

However, when refining the presentation it told me it can't create smartart, so in my mind it's not as good as the old way of going into a word document and exporting it as a PP, which does have that functionality. And, it seems this morning with the same documents that old functionality isn't working online for me either - I keep on getting a message "We're having difficulty creating your presentation, please try again."

This tool is supposed to make less work, and so far for this purpose all I've got to show is a few wasted hours trying to get it to work, and I'll be creating my slides manually because the MS copilot output for pp does not look nice without the smartout conversation function.

I purchased my Copilot license through a live support technician. I did not ask them for Copilot Pro. I told them I had a Microsoft 365 Personal license and asked simply for Copilot. I trusted them/Microsoft to provide me with the license that would work with what they understood I had. In fact, while on the call, they helped me move my MS 365 account to another email address—so I am absolutely sure they knew and understood what type of account I had.

Please confirm: If they had sold me the Copilot for Microsoft 365 license to accompany my existing Microsoft 365 Personal license, would I be accessing ALL the features promoted on the website and in the Support pages?

1.) Aside from the Copilot pro license, do you have a valid Microsoft 365subscription? If yes, what is the version of your Microsoft 365?

2.) Can you also check the version and build of your PowerPoint by opening PowerPoint> File> Office Account> About PowerPoint. You can take a screenshot and share it to us for reference.

We need these details to help identify if this issue happens only to a specific build or version and we could use this data for further investigation if needed. I appreciate your time and patience. We wait for your response!

If you're trying to create a presentation within PowerPoint using Copilot and it's not working properly, there could be a few reasons why.

First, make sure that you have selected the appropriate text or content that you want to include in your presentation before clicking on the Copilot button. Additionally, ensure that you have a stable internet connection. You can also try to recreate your documents and check for any typos or errors.
