I challenged three charges which amounted to over £290 and was given and email to say the refund was on its way and it's never been deposited into my account. I have called the helpline SEVERAL times and have been fobbed off. Where can I lodge a formal complaint?

Yes, that's the only way change has ever occurred, persisting and bringing enough pressure to bear until someone eventually notices and change occurs. Microsoft is flawed, cumbersome and weak within, it isn't so high and mighty (although it probably believes it is), to not listen. Without usconsuming their products, they cannot exist.

Rosa Parks, Ghandi, MJ King, Nelson Mandela, stellar examples of everyday people who made a difference.

I agree, but I don't think it's Sherry's fault as this issue lies several levels above her. The fact that the issues on this thread the last 9 months are all similar suggests either Microsoft does not read them or it thinks it can afford to ignore them. As a user said, perhaps it wants to focus on the business clients. It will be sued by some people who have the patience and funds but overall relies on customers not pursuing and therefore can carry on ignoring concerns. The problem in the UK and probably other countries is there is no regulatory oversite. No Ombudsman like we have for the larger financial services and utilities which has the power to arbitrate and impose penalties.

I would also report MS's behaviour to your MP.

My own experience the last two days - found out I have been paying both an annual fee for 365 and a monthly fee. On the 'My subscriptions' page on my account it hides the annual subscription and when it does show it it calls it 'Annual subscription', also on the PDF invoice, which doesn't mean anything, when it is actually for MS365. The MS operator said that MS does not charge twice for the same product then after checking my purchase history admitted that is what has happened. Then when I'm put through to accounts and billing the call gets disconnected. Other times the call back service doesn't call back. I'm on the 5th phone call now over two days to try to speak to billing and around 2 hours on the phone.

There is no means to write to Microsoft and there is no complaint service. It is best to pay for your subscriptions using your credit card as that gives you legal protection against malpractice and fraud. It is true that if the issues from a lack of service posted in this thread the last few months is replicated across the whole consumer user base then a new entrant will come in and fill the gap. MS will be forced to improve or national governments will force them to behave through regulation.

    Dear Sherry,

If you read through all customer complaints on this community platform, you will see that something needs to change with Microsoft customer sevice itself. It is not just a matter of referring contact numbers, contacting those seem to be equally hit and miss as to helpfulness or not.

Microsft should heed these words, unless no one cares, which could also be prevalent:

Companies with lousy products and poor customer service (such as yours), do not last. History is strewn with such examples. Only those who offer good products and maintain superlative customer service survive.

Not because I say so, it is natural law.
