"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

Each time I press the READ ALOUD button, it gives me this error message:

"To choose what voice you hear while using Read Aloud, sign in with your Microsoft account."

But I am signed into my MS account.

It appears that my credentials cannot be verified. When this happens, MS Word defaults to the 3 built-in voices.

Any ideas?

Hi guys -

Looks like it's now been fixed (11:30am (UK) time).

Restart your computers.

Be sure to use File | Feedback to express your frustration directly to Microsoft. I have reported this situation to the Word product team, and they have indicated the problem is on their radar, but the more reports they get, the more urgency they will feel about a fix.

I have the same problem. The robotic voice, instead of the friendly voice, despite the fact I have signed in many times. It’s my tool of work, I’m inactive at the moment. Please help.

I am having the same issue.

The clear 'default' voice was working yesterday but now all I'm getting is this prompt and if I press okay am stuck with Hazel, Susan and George who are AWFUL to listen to!!

As noted from original poster, I am also signed in - I have signed out and signed back in TWICE

I have full internet connection and a Microsoft Office 365 subscription

I contacted Office Support who remotely accessed my computer, did very little then informed me Hazel, Susan and George are the only voices available!!!

As already mentioned, that isn't true as 'default female' was working yesterday!!

The "to choose what voice you hear" prompt didn't exist yesterday!

    HELP PLEASE

I CANNOT proof any documents with Hazel and Susan! They drive me insane! Default female back please!!
