How Do I Get Windows 11 to Stop Saving Everything To OneDrive Folder Location?

Howdy!

I just recently got a new laptop, OS Windows 11, and I was trying to ensure that despite not having OneDrive installed, that things were not saving to it, but...

As I was accessing some files online, I noticed that the location was C:\Users\ADMINUSERNAMEREDACTED\OneDrive for the Documents, Photos, DESKTOP(??why??) and Downloads files.

This error in file-folder path LITERALLY cost me a job opportunity!! I am absolutely beside myself and genuinely bummed about this.

I DO NOT want ANYTHING AT ALL, literally ever, in a OneDrive path.

I have looked for information regarding this, but it is all out of date.

I would like to keep the fancy icons, instead of just the regular file folder icon, if at all possible.

I appreciate any assistance. I can definitely provide information if need be.

Also, I have no idea what kind of "Product" and "App" this qualifies as, so I hope that what I have selected is okay.

    Where would I enter the info above to delete the Onedrive stuff? I'm a simple computer user and hate everything that is on my laptop since I bought it last week. I do nothing with Office, Edge, or OneDrive. I use Google for everything. I thought I had properly unlinked and uninstalled onedrive, then copied everything from my external hard drive over to simple documents and photos folders. Which didn't SEEM to have any connection with one drive, but upon trying to save something, I saw that it was all buried under a OneDrive folder again. Which I deleted, and lost everything. It's not in my recycling bin.

    Furious and not super computer literate.

    There is no OneDrive icon in the taskbar or menu bar. Can we get a reply from a Microsoft employee who knows what he's talking about please?

    I DO NOT WANT ONEDRIVE. I WILL NEVER USE ONEDRIVE. Quit trying to jam your **** products down our throats FFS.

    this is false information, Windows 10 and 11 is now moving desktop, documents and more to the one driver folder even if you disable it and doesn't do it at first, windows update makes so where it is default and if you remove it or move it, your desktop items will disappear and apps that relies on them to save your progress no longer can be saved because they don't have access to that folder anymore so yeah turning off sync dfoesnt do anything becasue micrsoft sent updates to change this forcibly without informing you!

    Unless you do all the BS we outlined here, it will keep trying to put everything in the onedrive documents folder, and it will try to hide the fact that it is in the onedrive directory. It is extremely aggressive so I recommend you do the regedits too.

    Thank you so much. I will try it. In Win 10 could do it. But in Win 11 so far even though I click my pc it still goes to One Drive.

    One Drive is full, and I keep getting pop up to either buy more data or upgrade to Office 365. I have Office 2019 and soon won't be able to use it since I didn't purchase it from MS. I purchased it from Stapels in 2020.
