Is this legit?

If so, what should I look for and do?

    Hi Mary Han -

Not trying to be impertinent here, but how can you say with such certainty that this is a 'legitimate Microsoft Account notification' when so many others (including myself) have received identical emails, only citing 'Moscow, Russia,' and no one has found any unusual activity in their accounts, certainly none from Russia or India?

Me also. I have changed my password, and added two step security. The messages are coming into my in box and into my back up email When I informed microsoft that THIS IS NOT ME I get a message saying site unavailable. All the activity is coming from the US Redmond Washington with similar but not exactly the same VPN.

Definitely phishing. My rule of thumb is that I never click on links even if I'm absolutely positive it's from the actual site, if it can affect any account, I got to the address bar and log in or call the company.

I got such message and when I checked the site recommended:

See when and where you've used your account (live.com)

there was no such sign-in so mine seems to have been a phishing scam.

    Just FYI,

    Phil K.

Same here. I think this is spoofing... It would be a good measure of protection to log into our account and update your password and add multifactor authentication.
