How to disable OneDrive "On this day" "Memories" whatever MS calls it now

I can't find any options in the settings for OneDrive to get it to stop sending me reminders of the past "On this day" or "Memories". Is it even possible to turn this feature off?

Update: I found in the actual OneDrive website an option under settings called "On this day memories are available" that is already disabled. What I'm experiencing now is not emails, but popups in the bottom right corner of my screen, so no emails but now these popup notifications that seem to be coming from the operating system.

    I think it's big tech's effort to condition people into combining their daily life in to Microsoft products. It psychologically tries to link the "Memories" of users with the Microsoft suite of products. This creates a loyal and dependent consumer. It is also trashy and manipulative.

    Microsoft provides a service, and if it's useful the consumer will pay for it. They don't own anyone's life.

    Stop the social engineering, and do your job, Microsoft.

    Answers from volunteer moderators are mostly useless. If I could turn them off entirely it would make for a better experience...

    To the main question, in the mobile version go to Me>Settings>Personal Account>Shoe photos and videos from this day in previous years.

    You can also select Home Preferences and move the Memories section to the bottom.

    You may notice that the Notification option speaks of "Send me an email". Nothing about popup notifications. Someone else may eventually find that answer.

    This is such an awful feature and it's nearly impossible to turn off these email notifications. There's a broken link that says "notification settings" at the bottom of the email; I've been digging through my one drive settings to try to find them.

    I marked them as spam and reported the sender for phishing/malware so maybe someone from MS will actually have to deal with this.

    Just as an update, I haven't noticed such popups since I made that change a couple months ago. YMMV, of course, given the lack of transparency/discoverability/control Microsoft has given us with this un-asked-for "feature".
