How to disable OneDrive "On this day" "Memories" whatever MS calls it now

I can't find any options in the settings for OneDrive to get it to stop sending me reminders of the past "On this day" or "Memories". Is it even possible to turn this feature off?

Update: I found in the actual OneDrive website an option under settings called "On this day memories are available" that is already disabled. What I'm experiencing now is not emails, but popups in the bottom right corner of my screen, so no emails but now these popup notifications that seem to be coming from the operating system.

    I'm not sure why I am seeing the 'For you' and the 'On this day' features again. I have turned them off in the past, however I noticed that they are back again today. I use a desktop pc and I have an Office 365 account. I also access my OneDrive on my android phone.

    While on my desktop today, I followed the suggestions on here as regards Settings, however the option to turn off the features were not visible for me to use.

    At the moment, I have succeeded in hiding the features. At first, I looked in notifications for options, with a negative result. I browsed and went to Photos. This appears on my desktop in a list on the left-hand side of my screen, in the same list where Notifications is located. Within Photos, I found the option to hide the feature.

    I would have preferred to find this option in Notifications, as that seems to be more logical. Better still, I would prefer that this option to be an opt-in, rather than an opt-out feature.

    Hi Don,

    Yes I have verified that option is unchecked and has been saved. I think restarting my computer is what started this. It seems I received a recent update, and restarted my computer (and have restarted a few more times in the last day). This is when I started to have this issue. I also opened a support ticket with the OneDrive team (I pay a monthly fee for OneDrive so I figured I would use the support channel too). I am waiting for a response from them and can share anything I learn from them.

    Yeah I have the exact same issue - I disabled this months and months ago and now its the new year (2023) its started hounding me with lots of notifications - but if you go into the settings it is disabled already!

    Hello - I am having similar problems. Until a few days ago, when I opened a document it was a local document. Now it opens in oneDrive even though I'm logged out. I never use oneDrive and just want to be able to use the software as I always have but it seems it is forcing me to oneDrive. I now have to open an old document on my local/computer drive, delete the contents andn re-save it as a new document. This is very frustrating.

    I've just spent nearly two hours trying to fix my microsoft account via Microsoft Help.  E The techie gave me instructions that you need an IT degree to figure out.  I've reinstalled twice now but the same thing keeps happening - I am forced to oneDrive.
