PowerPoint automatically closes when laptop goes into sleep in windows 11

Microsoft is well aware of the problem and are working on it.

The problem seems to be caused by an interaction between PowerPoint and McAfee's antivirus software.

Several users have reported that if they remove McAfee, the problem disappears. They can then install other antivirus software and the problem doesn't return.

I am moving to Google slide too. MS is not responsive!

In the meantime (as we all act as beta testers of Windows 11 for Microsoft), in power settings, extend your sleep time to a couple of hours when plugged in, and then save your work at reasonable intervals. To save a little power, it probably does not hurt for your screen to turn off more frequently.

You may get a prompt that warns you that the screen time and sleep time are different, but who cares?

I am curious about this. Did you uninstall Macafee completely? Because it tries very hard to hang on and get you to resubscribe. So, I wonder if that might make a difference.

Right click on the app and select uninstall. In the settings, search for "startup apps" and check to see if Macafee is there. Turn it off if it is.

2. Is this happening to other Office applications like Word or Excel?
3. With your PowerPoint file, do you have any media graphics like a too much photos or videos?
4. Where do you usually save the file?
