I currently am working remotely and we use teams to communicate within our office.  Teams has given intermittent troubles.  It will not allow me to login sometimes.  When this happens I have to uninstall and reinstall the application, now that won't work at all.  I like to run the teams app on my local computer while using work vpn.  Currently using the web app to work.  Even an uninstall and reinstall will not work.  Please help.

There's a more permanent way to sign in to Microsoft Teams. If you're having trouble completing the process, talk to your IT admin

I tried clearing the cache but did not work.

I ran the teams troubleshoot compatibility it started to work again. (Right click Teams app and selected troubleshoot compatibility)

A quick work around for anyone having these issues is to close teams and outlook completely, then open a windows explorer window and browse to

    "%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams"

delete the contents on this folder and reopen teams.

it maybe related to your company using 2FA for your azure ad account. if you're using a machine managed by your company then it maybe using the password you used when login in to your machine.

i think the more "permanent" solution that microsoft alludes to is the "app passwords" that you can create using your 365 user account:

I have had this issue personally and with others through out my company.

My only insight is it has something to do with our Zscaler proxy app.  If Teams shuts down inconsistently it gets stuck in some authentication loop and refuses to pass auth.

I have purged cache, removed all previous folders from Teams.  Re-installed to no success.

At the sign in screen attempted to change accounts - no success.

I cannot get fiddler trace to work as Zscaler app will not let this run and taking down the Zapp temporarily fixes the issue.  All I see is 407 authentication requirements in the Zapp captures and little to no success on why Team is not passing authentication properly through the proxy.

We have had all endpoints updates and when it work it seems ok (outside the fact that CPU and Memory consumption is out of control with Teams and the app needs re-written from the ground up).

Open Microsoft case has gone nowhere for 3 weeks now..  Maybe a little less time on fancy chat pop ups and more time on client stability.   and oh Yes, Zscaler support does not see an issue either.

so as new clients dog food out in the environments, I can say, the current flavor is not very tasty.

Is there a way to make it take me authenticate.  If I could type in my password it would work.  But it never prompts me.
