Cannot enable OneDrive 'Camera Upload'

Hello,

I want to free up space on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

When I try to enable 'Free up space on the device' in the OneDrive app, I get the message:

'Camera upload must be enabled ...'

The problem is that there is no camera upload setting anymore.

Or am I missing something here ...?

I use the latest version of Android and version 6.1.1 of OneDrive.

Thanks!

I believe I have fixed this issue (btw found it on this thread too, a couple of pages back). Removing the Samsung app/service from your Microsoft account is only half the solution (https://account.live.com/consent/Manage). You also need remove the Microsoft account in "Connected services" from your Samsung account (https://account.samsung.com/membership/contents/services/services-gate).

For android devices, go to settings -> Apps->OneDrive->Permissions->enable camera permission. then you will be able to resolve this matter

These are the only directions full enough to actually walk me through getting this done. All of the other directions I've seen out there were not this explicit. Thank you>

. Go to phone "Settings" --> "Accounts and backup" --> "Samsung Cloud" --> (go to the 3 little vertical dots in the right top corner) and choose "Settings" --> "Samsung account" --> "Apps and services" --> "Connected services" and remove the Microsoft account that you use for syncing your OneDrive (in my case I only had one Microsoft account in the list there)

I've just figured out a fix for this issue eventually. Follow these steps and it should work:

    • Go to your phone settings app
    • Accounts and Backup
    • Accounts
    • Find your OneDrive account
    • Sync Account
    • Turn on Media Storage

Now you should be able to go into the OneDrive app and your gallery will be uploading and the "free up space on device" button will no longer be greyed out and automatically turned on.

    Hope this helps

After removing my Samsung account from Onedrive, camera upload was still unavailable. Only gallery sync. Frustrating. However, Yaaaayyyyy !!! This helped tremendously !!! Removing my Samsung account from my phone worked perfectly. Just recreated it. I also uninstalled Onedrive and reinstalled after removing my Samsung account from my phone. Camera upload is  now back in Onedrive. Woo Hoo !!!

Connecting Samsung gallery to Onedrive was a nightmare. Way too involved. Deleting photos from one deletes from the other, no camera upload to my pictures folder, etc., etc. I was always using Onedrive for photo storage and I liked things just the way they were.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you !!!
