Copy and Paste Text from OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages App

When I try to copy and paste text from the OneNote mobile iOS app to the Messages app, it pastes an HTML file with the text instead of only the text.  This is a new issue. In the past, I was always able to copy text from OneNote, and paste the text to the Messages app.  I cannot find any settings in the OneNote app or the Messages app that would seem to help.

    No luck. I have both iOS 13.4.1 and Notes 16.36. This problem just started within the last week. 

    Same versions as I now have but mine has started working since the update to 13.4.1. Sorry, no idea where you go from here.

    Yes! Working for me as well. It's been a long time coming. Glad it's finally fixed.

    I had to update iOS to 13.4.1. I first had iOS 13.3.1, and it didn't work. My OneNote app is version 16.36, and has been for a couple weeks. 

    Again, with OneNote 16.36 it still didn't work when running iOS 13.3.1. I had to upgrade to iOS 13.4.1 with OneNote 16.36 for it to work.

    Thank you Carlosde...I have a variation of your solution which I personally like better and is less navigation.

    As Carlosde said, highlight then select SHARE, the fifth option. But instead of selecting the iMessage icon, select "Copy", just below the icon apps. Then go to Messages and paste and the text will be pasted properly, not as an attached html.

    No idea why this copy works when the other doesn't. But sure enough I tested it both ways and, at least for me, the Copy under the Share dialog results in plain text, as desired.

    David Rodish, I'd hug you if I could--LOL!

    I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. BUT ... it inspired me to go another route, which

    —alas!—has solved the riddle. 

    Here's the workaround ...

    When highlighting copy from OneNote, you're provided five options as a next step: CUT, COPY, SELECT ALL and PASTE. It's in the fifth option—SHARE—where the solution is found. After you’ve highlighted whatever it is that you want to transfer, rather using the COPY or CUT functions, go into the SHARE menu. Here, you'll find icons of all the other apps on your phone, one of which is iMessage. 

    Click on the iMessage icon, and you’ll see the blank message box come up with the PASTE option. Then—viola!—drop in your text and hit SEND. 

    That’s it. 

    While there is more navigation with this process, it’s negligible. 

    Again, thanks for your response. Now, to the chagrin of my colleagues, I've turned into a Text Message Monster :-)

    This is very clever and a good option. Thanks for sharing.

    I spent time with Apple Support a few weeks ago and they were able to reproduce it. They thought it was most likely that OneNote needs to be updated.
