Since installing Catalina 10.15 and Office 365 16.30 (updates installed the same day (something I will not due again)) when I attempt to save a workbook that I have used for a couple of years, I receive the alert: 'Your changes could not be saved  to xxx.xlsx due to a sharing violation.  I then receive the alert The file format end extension of 646820000.mactf don't match.

I contacted the Answer Desk who say it is an Apple Product and Apple support said it is a Microsoft problem.

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

I had the same issue. I read in another forum that you needed to go into the Settings. Open the Security and Privacy icon, then select "Full Disk Access". When you do this you have to give all the MS Office applications full disk access. Then restart your computer.

I did this and I no longer have this problem.  Hope this helps.

Hi. I have been having the same exact problem. I'd like to try your solution. can you provide a bit more information please.

When you say "go into the Settings..." which settings are you referring to? I'm using a Mac and I looked under excel and I didn't find what you were describing. Please help, I'm desperate here. :)

After trying all the other tips, and nothing was successfull, I tried this last one, AND YES! This helped me out. No problems anymore.

    Thanks!

    jacsdad,

Thanks for testing the new release. Bummer they've not yet fixed this problem that you had been able to get them to reproduce.
