AUTOCORRECT-ONENOTE: FOR GODS SAKE PROVIDE AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF!!

Why, why was OneNote released without an option to turn autocorrect off?! This problem is now old enough, how was this not fixed? You essentially made OneNote completely useless, since it auto-"corrects" everything you want to type into something wrong. Why was this option removed from the new Versions of OneNote? How does it come that its not fixed by now?

    Could you share the file? I don't have OneNote 2016 anymore. Now I wish I stuck with it instead

    Makes me think this is actually intentional.

    This is crazy, so much time left and they still haven't fixed it.

    I really wish I could use OneNote for my studies.

    And what makes matters worse - they used to have this functionality

    Hi toph95,

    Have you tried disabling it manually in the OneNote app options? If not, click on File > Options > Proofing > under When Correcting Spelling in OneNote > unchecked the box for Check spelling as you type and Check grammar with spelling options. We suggest that you also check these links for more suggestions to disable other AutoCorrect options:

    Add, edit, or turn off automatic corrections

    Choose AutoCorrect options for capitalization, spelling, and symbols

     My ONENOTE has no the option for File. It only shows the 3 dots. Inside the Setting>Option it only shows autocorrection for the capital letter. How can i turn off this annoying autocorrection feature?

    Thank you, although this is tedious, I guess it's the only viable way of fixing this.

    I'm using math notation and camel-case for my work and studies.

    It really teaches you to be tidy with what you type, and it's not that tricky once you learn to not look at the keyboard when typing.

    The fact the Microsoft still cannot fix this issue is mind-boggling.

    I really like OneNote, but I hilariously have to use my Notepad first and then copy notes into OneNote for storage.
