AUTOCORRECT-ONENOTE: FOR GODS SAKE PROVIDE AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF!!

Why, why was OneNote released without an option to turn autocorrect off?! This problem is now old enough, how was this not fixed? You essentially made OneNote completely useless, since it auto-"corrects" everything you want to type into something wrong. Why was this option removed from the new Versions of OneNote? How does it come that its not fixed by now?

    Hello, i'm struggling this horrible problem with autocorrect too. I don't know if anybody here in comments mentioned that solution but today I discovered that when OneNote autocorrets you something, and if you want to unautocorrect this, the thing you have to do is to click ctrl-z, then space, then ctrl-z again and boom the autocorrect gives up and you have what you wanted to have. I know that it can be irritating when it autocorrects a lot, but I don't know any other solution and it works for me. I hope MS will fix this thing and we will be able to just turn off the autocorrection because it's ridiculous that software pretends to be smarter than the user.

    Example:

    You want to write (c) but OneNote autocorrects it to ©

    • write (c) (now it autocorrects to ©)
    • click ctrl-z (now it unautorrects to (c))
    • click space (now it autocorrects again to ©)
    • click ctrl-z
    • boom now you have (c)

    Works also with auto-numeration (when you write 1. or "-" and click space)

    Defect of this solution is that you have one space between this what you want to write and it's autocorrected.

    Please provide instructions for 365 version of OneNote considering it is required by our organization and reverting to 2016 is not an option.

    for those searching for the Option. 

    Open OneNote in Browser. 

    And on Home:

    However, this changes work for me online, but not on the Desktop App.

    Even not after sync & restart.

    In Office365 OneNote the way it was presented to me there was an option to revert to the "Classic Ribbon".

    After reverting I was able to turn off the most annoying autocorrects by following Home/Spelling/AutoCorrect Options.

    WARNING: After reverting to the "Classic Ribbon" I can't find anyway to change back to the default.
