Microsoft Office 2011 Mac 64 bit upgrade

I purchased Microsoft Office 2011 along with the purchase of my MacBook. I did an upgrade yesterday only to find that Office 2011 will only run on 32 bit. The upgrade now requires Microsoft Office to run on 64bit. I read in many places that Microsoft has no intentions of supporting this upgrade so therefore, I can no longer safely use this software, that I purchased, on my mac. Microsoft is forcing me to purchase something I have already purchased earlier. I do not care if there are newer versions of Microsoft Office. I purchased Office 2011 and Microsoft should still honor that purchase by providing the 64bit upgrade. I contacted support thru their chat box and was only directed to this site where I can look up or post my own questions. Really great customer support Microsoft! Thank-you! NOT. I wish to have a refund or a product key to another Microsoft Office that will run on Mac at 64bit. I'll be holding my breath awaiting even more outstanding customer service.

I agree with Gilles. A better analogy: you can hunt with a rifle or a bow and arrow. Both will kill prey effectively but not in the same manner. I will not upgrade past Mojave because the Office 2011 works fine. I have seen Office 369, it sucks. Windows 7 looks better and smarter than the current version. Unfortunately, in the software business, companies have to regress the product to continue making money.

As an old guy who used AmiPro and Word Perfect (all put out of business by Microsoft), you use what you can until you cannot anymore. I will eventually have to buy Office 369, when the Mac that I have malfunctions or dies. We can gripe and cry all we want but "corporate's gonna do what corporates gonna do!!!" My 2 Cents added to the pile. Logknow.

I got exactly similar problem. Hope they do solve this problem soon. While purchasing, i thought it has lifetime validity.

Well, I attempted to be as informed as I could be about loading 10.14 on my Mac. Alas, not enough because now some of my 32 bit programs will not work forever and I will need top download another Microsoft Office. Too bad because I use it for classes and personal/volunteer works. $$$$$ again that I do not have. So I will use it for as long as I can and look for a solution. There should be more obvious warning from MAC. Not a happy camper. Jennifer as a great idea, maybe a refund.

My new MacBookPro says I am up to date with MacOSMojave 10.14.5

At what point will I NOT be able to use my copy of Microsoft Office???

ACM, I'm in the same boat. You are OK as long as you don't upgrade your OS past Mojave. All those annoying messages are just there to remind you to upgrade your software to 64bit (which you can't do with Office 2011) or don't upgrade your OS.
