MS Office Jumping Shaking jogging while scrolling or changing panes on external monitor

I am having the same problem. After searching around and finding this fix for turning off animated controls the problem is fixed.

Control panel > System and security > System > Advanced system settings (in upper-left side) > Advanced tab > Settings in Performance box > Visual effects: Here disable Animate controls and elements inside windows (I disabled all three check boxes with the word Animate).

if that works its an add-in  causing your problem.

Replying to my own post to help others.  Via Desktop, Rightclick, Display Settings, scroll down to: Display Adapter Properties, I did 2 things.  

  Under Monitor Tab, reset FPS from 59 to 50.  

  Then, clicked Adapter Tab, clicked Properties, on the resulting pop up, clicked Driver tab, clicked Update (and it did).  One or both of these things worked.

I had severe jumping of WORD when driving two monitors off my laptop.  (At home, it had been jumping only on (R) external monitor when driving two DVI monitors off a dock, in another office, it was jumping on both L and R external monitor off the X1's DVI port (with DVI HDMI cable) and X1 HDMI port (with HDMI HDMI cable).

I noticed jumping stopped if I was driving only 1 external monitor so I wondered if it was an overloading problem with an irregular fault.

Did this stuff and it went away.  (I had to figure out to keep clicking deep enough inside various submenus then I did hit a video driver that was updateable).  I'm not sure which worked: (A) slowing the FPS or (B) the driver update.  I guess I could reset monitors back upwards to 59 fps and see if the problem came back.

20170911:

Suffered: Severe jumping in OFFICE when driving two monitors of Lenovo X1 Gen4.

Noticed: No jumping in OFFICE when only using 1 external monitor (other unplugged)

Desktop > Rightclick > Display Settings

Pick one of the 2 or 3 monitors

Scroll to bottom to: Display adapter properties

MONITOR TAB: Set from 59 fps to slower 50 fps

ADAPTER TAB: Properties (see a 2nd popup), then Driver tab, then click Update (slow)

In my case u pdated to: 8/13/2017, Intel HD 520 Driver, 22.20.16.4771.

This updated the driver apparently used for all 3 monitors, internal and the two externals.  They all show they are using the same Intel .4771 driver.

I have the same issue with new Surface Pro (i7 - 7660U @ 2.5GHz 16.0GB RAM, x64) running Windows 10 Prof and Office 365. My external monitor is an Insignia, but I have a newer and larger Vizio monitor at work and the same thing happens. I ran the OffCAT tool and it only told me that I needed to update my Office programs (news to me, as I had received no notice that updates were available). I updated and rebooted, but the problem persists. It makes working on an external monitor impossible.  It is also associated with spontaneous and absurd resizing of the window (the whole window, including text on the Word tool bars), which is also extremely annoying.  I've used this monitor with my Windows 7 Dell laptop for years with zero problems.  It's quite amazing to switch to Windows hardware running Windows software and find myself fighting one ridiculous bug after the next! This is just the latest. I always excused these kinds of things as being caused by poor integration between hardware and software from different companies. But apparently, it's just Microsoft.
