Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I use outlook for android (Motorola Moto G running Android 5.1) and it worked great until a couple of days ago. Now I get notifications of new emails, but the messages don't show up in my inbox. If I click a notification to try and read the email, it says 'Couldn't open message', and takes me back to my inbox, which shows only old messages.

Please help!

Same here. As I subscribed to this thread, I got the notification, clicked it, but can't see on my outlook app inbox.

    Oneplus 5T, Oxygen OS 9.0.11,

    Outlook app version 4.1.59

I usually get it after 5-10min when I go back and check. But this is a work phone, goodness, can't see email as it comes? Not useful at all!

    Hi

I had been experiencing the same issue with my S8 for the past three months, following the same workarounds/fixes discussed on this thread as far back as 2015! Many of us have been frustrated for years. I saw a post indentifying the battery optimization setting in the authenticator app as the root cause. I went to settings on my phone and used voice search to locate the app and in my case, as soon I opened it I saw a red notice on settings. Which confirmed the app was set in battery optimization mode and when I turned it off both the notifications and my emails came in as expected. I will monitor and post an update here in one week to let you know if the fix held. I'm also going to copy and paste this on that first thread where I found this suggestion.... YOU ARE MY HERO!

Turning off battery optimization worked and have had no other problems. Thank you
