I recently upgraded to Office 2016 Preview from Office 2013. I had several POP / IMAP and Exchange accounts that all worked fine prior to the upgrade. After the upgrade the POP / IMAP accounts work fine but non of the Exchange accounts work. I got the following message "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service" Ok, so deleted the account and tried to set it up again however, under "Add Account" there is no longer an option to set up an Exchange account. There are only two options: 1) Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync compatible service or 2) POP or IMAP. The Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service option is missing?

Just thought I'd add my situation. I installed the Office 2016 preview on my Win10 test laptop where I previously had 2013 setup and working with our Exchange account. Had a few issues getting the setup going but eventually was connected to my email. Rebooted and got back in this morning and got the same error message about missing required information. Autodiscover is working as we are using Exchange Online (Office 365) and that was one of the setup requirements. So maybe part of the problem is they still have bugs to work out since it doesn't even work on their system.
What is autodiscover and how do I apply it to Outlook so I can set up my email account? I had zero problems adding a gmail acct, but pop3 no go :)
Also: does anyone know if it would be possible to "manually" set up the profile, via registry editing, etc.?
it needs too many keys to do it in the registry. if you previously had outlook set up on the computer, the account should migrate over to outlook 2016, however several people said it didn't work for them.
You can try using an xml file.

I think you should do the second choice (if currently you only have office 2016 installed): uninstall 2016 --> install 2013 --> Set up exchange account --> uninstall 2013 --> reinstall 2016?
Try it and share the result.

That doesn't make sense...
Wouldn't you need to install 2016 after you have 2013 setup and UPGRADE to 2016 so it imports 2013 settings? or even 2010 settings? Then afterwards and 2016 is working then remove 2010/2013
