Office 2016 keeps reverting color theme back to Colorful

I installed Office 2016 as an upgrade to 2013.  Put the color scheme on grey (because annoyingly the awesome Black went away sometime in the preview.)

Now I have a weird issue where every time I close all of the 2016 applications and then reopen one of the applications, the theme has changed from grey to colorful.  This applies to reboots or just closing them all and then later opening one back up.  Oddly as well today (10/5/2015) I walked away from the computer to talk to a co-worker in the next office.  When I came back, it was on colorful again.  However that is the only time it has changed itself while open.

It seems to work correctly when it is set to Grey.  So for instance, say I open Outlook and change the theme to Grey.  When I open Word or Excel, they are also Grey as they should be.

So I'm just throwing that out there as a potential bug

It stopped doing it for me when I realized I was not logged in to the Office 365 system.  In the upper right corner of Excel, you will see your name.  Mine had a trouble triangle next to it.  It was because I had changed my password, and our Office 365 is integrated with our Active Directory so every time I change the password at work, it broke the Office applications login.  Check next to your name to see if you have this issue with Office 365.  I hope this helps.

    Hi Galley,

Can you provide the version number of Office? And what Windows version do you have? To find the Office version, go to File  > Account > Office Updates.

    Thanks,

    Michelle

I did sign out, but then I signed back in. I'm guessing you'd have to be signed in so that Office would keep your preferences. Why don't you try it out?

This problem should be escalated to an Accessibility Issue.  Some people have trouble working with certain colors.
