OneNote (OSX) Language Proofing

Hey everyone, 

I have OneNote for my MacBook (the default language is English) and when I set the proofing language to Spanish (I'm studying at a University in Chile), it seems to go back to English after a few minutes of writing. I know there is a solution for this with OneNote for Windows, but has anyone found a solution for the OSX version?

    Why not allowing a multilingual dictionary, like Pages? Or let users select two languages with shift as standard proofing language?

    When set proofing language and open menu under Edit >> Set Proofing Language... Window appears with a list of languages. Some of these have note 'installed' some are not. Language I am interested in, has not currently 'installed' note. From where this list and note 'installed' is taken from? For example, in Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 the spelling in language I am looking for is working perfectly, cannot it be used as the same source for speller?

    I think this is the most reliable solution.

    I Have the keyboard in English, OS in English but Spanish speaker, so changing keyboard config is not the best solution IMHO.

    I do most of the work on my mac in English, the language settings on the mac are also in English but since I bought the mac in a spanish speaking country, the physical keyboard is set for spanish characters. Changing it to English messes a with locating where some of the characters ended on the keyboard.

    Would it not be better to use the system settings for proofing languages rather than the configuration of the keyboard? OneNote is the only app where I have this problem. The others take the system language settings to do the proofing.

    Hi Logan,

    Thanks for your feedback on Mac OneNote.

    We are aware and are investigating some issues with setting of proofing languages.

    In general, the proofing language is set by your keyboard language setting. So when you create new paragraphs or text blocks we set the proofing language based on the keyboard language.

    yes this is a keyboard setting issue. 

    to resolve: make sure that your input source under keyboard settings is the right language (the one you want to use - if you have more than one). if selecting the correct one does not resolve the issue, remove the one that is causing a problem - this will definitely resolve it.
