Hi, I've made a fresh install of windows 8.1, and then office 2013. However excel 2013 crashes every time right after I try to scroll down. I have the same setup as Juan and was panicking a bit. It seems like something Microsoft have to sort out because this issue appears regularly over the last few days. I see a lot of talk about graphics cards but mine is integrated into an i5 I can't confess to have worked this out for myself but it solved the issue. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings (on left) -> click Advanced tab -> under Performance (first option) -> click Settings -> on Visual Effects tab -> uncheck "Animate controls and elements inside windows" With regards Shaun

Hi, I didn't realize about the spell check issue, same for me crashes every time. I'm running a desktop with asus sabertooth motherboard with an AMD Fx processor with a Radeon video card. Juan

Me too. Excel crashes on scroll and Word when trying to spell check. Office 2013 Pro and Windows 8.1, worked fine before upgrade, most annoying. Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with Intel graphics if that's relevant. Steve

I am having exactly the same problem. Word also crashes when trying to run spell check. Very frustrating. Wayne

I can't confess to have worked this out for myself but it solved the issue.

Go to
