Hi,

I bought the boxed version of Office 2013 Home and Business English edition at a local store.

I come home, open the box and there's no disc (!??)

I go to office.com/setup as per instructions, enter my key and then forced to created a microsoft account.

While creating the microsoft account, I chose by mistake Canada - French.

At the installation page, I realize that the selected language is French and that I cannot change it.

I go over all th My Account options to find the language setting in order to change it but no hope.

I figure that if I download the media maybe I will get the option of choosing my language... guess what.

I burn the image, pop the disc in and its only in French with no choice of choosing English!!!

Please Help I bought an English version, I want the English version!

Thanks,

Please note: this is not about the input language but the installation language (GUI)

Well I am in the same bucket as all the rest..  I have Spanish instead of English..  I have been waiting for an" On Line Fix" from  MS..  This is a flaw that cannot be fixed by the customer... What if I was to move and had to use another language, I couldn't just go in a change it over....

I also got a card from Best Buy, where I put it is a mystery and now I know that if I tried it would be a waste of time.   Come on MS, just issue a correction disk if some one requests one..  Let the disk download and correct the error.......

As BigJim stated, you have to contact MS Support and convince them to download the correct version for you.

Otherwise, the only solution that I have seen confirmed to work is have them cancel you subscription and give you a new product key to start the installation all over (not a big deal, should only take a few minutes).

Microsoft Online Electronic Software Download (ESD) Support

Sorry to be part of the finger pointing merry-go-round. But there are no official published fixes from MS for your problem. We can provide generic answers. You have to pester MS for help or ask for your money back.

Many Microsoft products and product upgrades can be purchased via a retail store or online, then downloaded to your computer as an Electronic Software Download. In addition to buying your Microsoft product directly from Microsoft, you may have purchased it from another company. Please select the appropriate issue below to get assistance:

I need assistance with downloading electronic software that I purchased from an Online Retailer.

I am unable to find my product key (25 character alpha numeric product key) or my product key did not work.

I need assistance installing a downloaded product or I've already successfully installed the product and need technical support.

I need assistance with my PIN (27 character alpha numeric PIN) .

None of the issues above describe my issue or question.

Phone Support for When you have Buy Office questions -online store orders, download, or product keys

Use the phone number if you have questions regarding online store orders, download, or product keys.

    Online chat support: **http://answerdesk.microsoftstore.com/AnswerTech******

I recently used online chat support myself. I found it had several advantages over phone support, even though you still contact the same outsourced, unskilled, support personnel:

    ·    No ESL accent issues

    ·    Provides instant time stamped transcript

    ·    When you get transferred to the “right” person, they can review the history

    ·    If they don’t read history, you can copy / paste the past conversation to them, saving you having to repeat yourself

    ·    They are more likely to go off line to ask other people for help (good for you)

    ·    You don’t have to listen to “elevator muzak” then they are off line

    ·    You have 2 hands free to surf the web then they are not talking to you

that waiting for online chat responses less frustrating than listening to elevator music.  And when I was handed off to someone else who asked redundant questions, I simply copy and pasted the earlier replies I had given.

Plus it immediately gives you a timestamped transcript which you can share with the world ... <grin>
