You can change the theme in Office by clicking File > Account page in any Office product with the exception of Outlook. In Outlook, Click File > Office Account to change the theme.

There are three themes available in Office 2013:

White - Default

Light Gray

Dark Gray

I too, have issues with the new format.  My eyes water after 15 - 30 minutes.  Unfortunately, as this is a work computer,  I don't have the option of returning to the previous version.  Am I to wear sunglasses just to avoid eyestrain?  In tears - literally.

Do it! I switched to a MacBook Pro 15" and the OSX Operating system is far superior than Windows. Because I have to use Windows for my job, I am running windows as a virtual machine under VM Ware Pro 7 which runs concurrently with the Mac OSX operating system. In order for the two to coexist without a glitch, the best is to have the maximum memory possible (in my case is 16GB) and use a solid state drive to run the operating system and the virtual machine.

With both operating systems running together at the same time, the windows virtual machine runs faster than it did in my old Samsung laptop with 3Ghz Intel I7 technology. Also office for Mac is still in the 2011 version and therefore you don't run through all the crap that Microsoft is making everyone go through with their sloppy response.

The change to Windos 8.1 and Office 365 was the hair in the camel's back that made me change to Mac OS X which is based on the Unix operating system which is far superior than the Windows operating system.

I knew nothing about Mac and the learning curve was easy, and plenty of info around. My advice to everyone is if you are fed up with Microsoft, switch to a Mac now!

They should definitely fire the entire Office 365 Team!!!! They single-handedly destroyed the Microsoft Office product! I was thinking about switching to a Mac computer and thanks to Microsoft I am gald I changed to Mac. The office for Mac is far superior!

I just purchased and downloaded Office Pro Plus 2013 less than 12 hours ago, and I wish I had sampled it before purchase.  I use Windows 7 and obviously the Office 2013 theme doesn't mesh.  I'm sure it will fit well with the Windows 8 theme on my tablet, but I won't be installing it on the Win8 tab because then I will have two things that I really dislike.
