How to change the theme of Office 2013

OMG, Google?

They're worse than any other tech company on the planet. The strong-armed manipulations and flat-out deceit they've been pulling for the last month at YouTube is reason enough to hate those donkey-holes forever.

And that's after they pulled the same "You HAVE to join Google+ and use your real name" **** in the Android Play Store.

I was over those strident morons when they started making admins play Whack-A-Mole with GoogleUpdate.exe.

Microsoft cared about their customers, at some point. And some divisions still do: I had to return my Surface Pro a few months after I picked it up and the customer service was the best I've ever experienced from a large corporation. The Azure team is pretty awesome, too.

Google couldn't have cared less from day one.

I got tired of waiting for a response to this thread from Microsoft so I decided to connect with their support team.....HAHAHA! The page wont even load!

Oh Microsoft. You know I really love windows 8.1. I really like my Surface - although have a Surface Pro first version with terrible batter life.....you'd think there would be a trade in program. Anyways, you're hitting some of the right buttons but damn it, I would with OFFICE all day and I hate the themes available.

Please let us know what is going on.....

Mike, thank you for adding your voice to the clamor for the old theme choices. I suspect that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, are doing the same thing you are doing but not "upgrading" to Office 2013. 

Having dealt with Microsoft for decades, all the way back to when you could call them for free and get a real person, I am truly shocked at their complete lack of response to all these complaints. It is equally disheartening that they paid no attention to their initial focus groups who all reported they HATED the lack of themes. Beyond ignoring the focus groups, the initial release was met with thousands of large companies whose staff refused to upgrade for the same reason.

rf_775 commented that Microsoft is paying more attention to their shareholders. I must respectfully disagree because it is certainly not in the interests of shareholders to have Microsoft upsetting their customer base and delaying an upgrade. One would think they would have jumped on this as a top priority issue and solved it quickly.

Maybe it's also why we're starting to see articles in the media about the demise of Microsoft? No matter who you are you get what you deserve. I, for one, wish Google would seize this opportunity to release an Office Suite and give Microsoft a decent funeral.

I, too, would like to voice my displeasure with the ill-conceived stock themes in Office 2013. The stark, bright backgrounds and bland, low-contrast elements cause eyestrain and fatigue. As system administrator, I cannot recommend to our users (aprox. 250 employees) that they upgrade to this latest version.

Microsoft needs to fix this ASAP.
