Outlook.com emails being rejected and returned by sbcglobal.net, att.net

I am aware of other questions being posted regarding this issue, but most seem to directed to corporate email, and not individual home users as myself.

As best as I can tell this problem started yesterday, August 6, 2024, when any email I sent to an sbcglobal.net or att.net email recipient was rejected and returned with the following message:

Undeliverable: Fw: PRAYER BREAKFAST, SAT AUG 10, 2024, 8 AM, at MIMI's CAFE

To: You Wed 8/7/2024 5:15 PM

This message is able to be sent again Send again

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

<recipient email address>

Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, the recipient's email system refused to accept a connection from your email system. Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that their email system is refusing connections from your email server. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

The remaining information contained in the bounce message applied to email administrators, which is not applicable to me as a home user.

This problem occurs on both my windows 11 laptop, and my iPhone 13, and occurs with both classic Outlook and new Outlook. It occurs rather I send to a single recipient to multiple recipients in my contacts list.

I was able to send emails to these recipients as late as last Friday, August 2, 2024.

What solutions does Microsoft have to help resolve this issue?

    Totally unsatisfactory response.

    We know the problem.

ATT.net won't talk to us because we don't have an account with them.

They would, however, speak with Microsoft if you contacted them and worked out the problem.

Where are you physically located. My guess is that you are not working out of the US.

Please resolve this problem with your supervisor or someone who can advocate for us a higher level.

WE have been patient for over a week.

Maybe it is time to let Bill Gates know how poorly service has become since he has spent his time in other endeavors.

    Hi, netgrampa

    Thanks for your response!

Sorry that the issue brings trouble to all of you guys.

The problem that any email sent to sbcglobal.net, att.net or yahoo.net recipients through outlook.com will be bounced does indicate that there is a problem between the Microsoft server and these third-party servers.

The error message that everyone has encountered actually clearly indicates that it is a problem with the third-party server, which causes the user's email to be blocked. This needs to be reported to the corresponding email service provider, and their permission is required to remove the restriction on the Microsoft email domain name. This is a connection problem between servers. Individuals do not have the right to set up the server.

    Thanks for your understand!

I wish you all the best

I think Linda needs to elevate this conversation to a supervisor.

We have all provided ample info for Microsoft to realize they have a duty to their outlook customers to help resolve an issue that is not in the control nor should it be in the control of their Outlook and/or Hotmail.com customers.

Did Outlook change something that is causing ATT.net to reject our emails? Or,

Did the latest Microsoft windows update impact the way our emails are viewed by ATT? Or,,

Are there changes on the ATT.net end of things that means Outlook personnel, like Linda or someone further up the food chain, needs to find out what they are and then give us specific instructions on how we can correct our end so that we are once again compatible? Or,

    Who knows what.

I had one of my ATT.net email friends send me an email and it worked just fine coming to me.

But, when I responded, he did not receive the email and I am waiting for the rejection email from Outlook so that I can copy and paste it and send it to him via a text. He is going to somehow attempt to contact ATT.Net since he hasn't been told there is a problem and since he long ago elected to keep using his ATT.net email address.

BTW, Ameritech.net is also tied into this who mess as well.

    David,

As I also stated to Linda in her reply to me, I have read your reply my post, it seems that Microsoft is missing the point that we are all HOME users, NOT a corporate user who has the luxury of an IT department.

You both reply I should reach out to my email service provider. I have an outlook.com email account set up via Microsoft website. Therefore, MICROSOFT is my email service provider, which is why I posted the question to begin with.

To state and clarify again ANY email I send to a sbcglobal.net, att.net, yahoo.net recipient gets bounced back from.

Is Microsoft reaching out to AT&T to help resolve this matter.
